The Business Context Kit

One file that makes ChatGPT, Claude and Gemini actually know your business, plus eight ready-to-paste assistants for the jobs you do every week.

For: Founders and small teams who pay for AI and still get generic answers

Start using it

Why your AI sounds like everyone else’s.

Every chat starts from zero. The tool doesn’t know what you sell, what you charge, who you won’t work with or how you talk, so it fills the gaps with the average of the internet. That’s the generic answer.

The first thing I do in a $350 Power Session is write this file with the owner. It takes about twenty minutes, and every assistant after it gets better because of it. Here it is, free.

Part 1 · The file

The business context file

Copy it, fill in the brackets, and keep it in one place you can update. Sections 1, 3 and 5 do most of the work if you only have ten minutes.

Template · copy and fill in

BUSINESS CONTEXT: [Business name]
Last updated: [date]

1. WHAT WE DO
In one sentence: We [do what] for [whom] so they can [result].
Offers and prices we quote publicly:
- [Offer] | [price, or "from $X"] | [who it's for]
- [Offer] | [price] | [who it's for]
Things we do NOT offer, so you never suggest them: [ ]

2. WHO WE SERVE
Our best customers: [type, size, location, the problem they arrive with]
Who we turn away, and why: [ ]
Questions people ask before they buy: [ ]

3. HOW WE SOUND
Three words for our voice: [ ]
Phrases we actually use: [ ]
Never write: [words, claims, emojis, exclamation marks, anything that sounds like an ad]
Email sign-off: [ ]

4. FACTS YOU CAN RELY ON
Hours, service area and how fast we reply: [ ]
Policies (deposits, cancellations, guarantees, warranties): [ ]
Tools we use (CRM, booking, phone, invoicing): [ ]

5. WHAT NEEDS A HUMAN
Never state or promise without me checking: [prices not listed above, discounts, dates, anything legal, medical, tax or HR]
Always hand to a person: [complaints, refunds, anything about a named employee]

6. THIS QUARTER
What we're focused on: [ ]
What changed recently: [ ]

HOW TO USE THIS
Treat everything above as true for our business. If you need something that isn't here, ask me instead of guessing. Write the way section 3 describes, and never break section 5.

Example · a fictional HVAC company

1. WHAT WE DO
In one sentence: We repair and replace heating and cooling systems for homeowners in Tarrant County so they're never without AC in July.
Offers: Diagnostic visit | $89, credited to the repair | anyone with a system problem
Maintenance plan | $15/month | homeowners who want two tune-ups a year
Things we do NOT offer: commercial rooftop units, duct cleaning.

3. HOW WE SOUND
Three words: calm, direct, local.
Never write: "don't sweat it", "hot deals", exclamation marks, prices for replacements.

5. WHAT NEEDS A HUMAN
Never promise: same-day arrival, a replacement price, financing approval.
Always hand to a person: gas smells, carbon monoxide alarms, unhappy customers.

Where it goes

ChatGPT
Create a Project for the business. Paste the file into the project’s instructions, or add it as a project file and paste the “How to use this” paragraph into the instructions.
Claude
Create a Project. Add the file to the project’s knowledge, and paste the “How to use this” paragraph into its custom instructions.
Gemini
Create a Gem. Paste the whole file into the Gem’s instructions, or attach it as a file if your plan allows.

Menu names change between versions. The idea doesn’t: one workspace, one file, every chat inside it.

Part 2 · The assistants

Eight assistants for the jobs you do every week

Each one is a set of instructions you paste into its own project or Gem, next to your context file. Start with one.

Questions

Why does ChatGPT give generic answers about my business?
Because every chat starts knowing nothing about you: your offers, prices, customers, voice or rules. A business context file fixes that once. Put it in a ChatGPT Project, a Claude Project or a Gemini Gem and every answer starts from your facts instead of the internet’s average.
Is it safe to put business information into an AI tool?
Keep the context file to things you would put on your website or in a staff handbook: offers, public prices, policies, voice. Leave out passwords, customer records and anything confidential, and check your plan’s data settings before pasting customer data into any tool.
Which AI tool should I put it in?
The one you already open every day. The file works the same in ChatGPT, Claude and Gemini. If you use two, keep one master copy and paste it into both.

Want it set up with you, not by you?

In a $350 AI Power Session we write your context file together, set up the assistants you’ll actually use, and test them on your real work. 75 to 90 minutes, and you leave with it running.
